Dealing with docking stations

Vendors like Switftmile and Duckt are delivering street furniture solutions to cities that provide a operator-neutral parking and charging point for micromobility vehicles like scooters and bikes. This reduces clutter of discarded vehicles on streets and sidewalks and also provides an aggregation point for data reporting, and offers a key data aggregation point.

However, it raises the larger question of how much of micromobility infrastructure cities are prepared to farm out to private operators, and how the resulting data streams will be shared and secured.
