Ethical supply chains for urban tech

Amazon has been doing business with a blacklisted Chinese company that is alleged to have "helped China detain and monitor Uighurs and other Muslim minorities". Amazon bought the cameras for monitoring employees with COVID, in part because domestic US manufacturers had a weeks-long backlog.

This points towards a future in which complex global supply chains for urban tech raise challenging geopolitical and ethical issues.
