P2P precision agriculture

The GROW project deployed 6500 sensors in 24 communities allow small farmers to cross-reference local soil moisture measurements with remote sensed imagery form the Copernicus’ Sentinel-1 satellite. In addition to contributing valuable data to climate change studies, farmers were able to reduce over-watering by as much as 30 percent, conserving limited water supplies and improving local soil quality.

This suggests a future where small urban farming collectives are able to equip themselves with fairly sophisticated infrastructures for precision agriculture and develop peer learning networks that could exploit AI.
