Remote courts deal out harsher judgements

Virtual court hearings are booming, and given the cost reductions they potentially represent for court adminstrators, are likely to continue well into the future. However, studies show that people appearing before judges by video receive harsher punishments, negative judgements, and are less likely to be believed than those appearing in person.

This points towards a future where judicial administration provided remotely is both harsher and more efficient at dealing out its punishments, and likely to make more factual and discretionary errors.
